IP Blocking
Learn more about IP blocking, why it could be so helpful and when to use it.
Occasionally you may have to block certain third parties from accessing your Internet sites. There are a lot of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for example, and generate fake visits and traffic. There are spammers that leave links to questionable websites as comments to blog articles. This kind of things may considerably undermine your projects, since no one likes to visit an Internet site with many hundreds of fake comments, furthermore the increased site traffic from both spammers and bots can create high load on the web server in which your Internet site is hosted, that could result in the site not working properly. One of the best solutions in such a case is to block the IP addresses which produce the fake traffic, as a way to ensure that the visits to your site are real.

IP Blocking in Cloud Website Hosting
If you get a
cloud website hosting from our company, you'll be able to see comprehensive traffic stats for all your Internet sites and if you notice that many of the visits to each of them aren't real, you can block the IP addresses that have produced the most traffic via our IP Blocking tool. The interface is very simple - pick the needed domain or subdomain from a drop-down list, then input the IP address you want to block and save the change. All the addresses you have blacklisted will show up in the same exact section of the CP, so that you can always remove any of them and permit it to access your website again. You can block whole IP ranges using the tool also - you just have to leave 1 or 2 octets from the address blank. For instance, entering 1.2.3. will block all 254 IPs from 1.2.3.1 to 1.2.3.255.
